Plant Care
Quick facts
Newly planted trees and shrubs need regular and consistent watering until root systems establish.
Root systems of trees and shrubs, whether bare root, balled and burlapped, or in a container, are severely reduced or restricted.
It is important to loosen any roots apart so that the plant can grow to its full potential
After planting, root systems will grow and establish until they are much wider than the above ground portion of the plant.
Watering Guidelines
Newly planted trees and shrubs require more water than established trees and shrubs.
Water daily 1-2 weeks after planting
Water every 2 to 3 days 3-12 weeks after planting
Water weekly after 12 weeks keeping the plants base moist
It is important to slowly water plants with trickling water so that water can reach the plants roots.
For average soils, water a newly planted shrub for approximately 5 minutes
